Expressiones Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the opening of "Architectures of Silence," a solo exhibition by Peruvian artist Toto Fernandez Ampuero. The exhibition will open on Saturday, March 8th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and will feature a collection of artworks created during Toto's residency in New London, as well as selected pieces from his previous collections. Toto Fernandez Ampuero's work is a profound exploration of the interplay between the public and the intimate, capturing the essence of New London's streets, brick houses, and gabled roofs. His paintings reflect the contrast between the permanent and the ephemeral, the enduring architecture and the fleeting traces of life. Winter's cold yet intense light has transformed the landscapes into almost theatrical scenes, where the city feels empty but not uninhabited. Objects such as a parked car or an abandoned armchair suggest invisible stories and traces of those who were there and are no longer. The opening event will include a discussion by the artist about his creative process, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of his work and inspiration. Toto's approach to art is guided by intuition and free from preconceived ideas, allowing the city to speak to him and be reinterpreted through emotion. Expressiones Cultural Center invites the community to join us for this special event and experience the unique perspective of Toto Fernandez Ampuero. The exhibition will be on display until [end date], and admission is free.
