“Two Journeys, One Story: A Day of Visual Storytelling with Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors” Join us for an intimate evening of storytelling and art at Expressiones, featuring Spring 2025 Artists-in-Residence Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors. Through photographs, installations, and spoken narratives, Indira and Marc will share the powerful stories behind their work—stories born of migration, resilience, and connection. From Marc’s five-year, 15-country bicycle journey through the Americas to Indira’s multidisciplinary reflections on displacement, healing, and labor, their paths offer deeply moving insights into the human experience. Moderated by Guido Garaycochea, the evening will include an artist talk, audience Q&A, and an opportunity to explore their work up close. Common Artist Statement “Two Journeys, One Story: A Day of Visual Storytelling with Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors” brings together the deeply personal and socially engaged practices of artists Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors, whose work explores the intersecting landscapes of migration, memory, identity, and resilience. Though distinct in medium and approach, both artists are guided by a commitment to storytelling as a means of human connection. Marc Hors traverses continents on two wheels, capturing intimate moments that reflect the shared humanity of those he encounters across the Americas. Indira Urrutia builds tactile, meditative installations rooted in her own migratory experiences and the voices of the communities she engages. Together, their work invites reflection on the journeys—both physical and emotional—that shape who we are. Through photography, textile, oral histories, and immersive installations, this exhibition becomes a space of encounter: a place where past and present, self and other, land and displacement converge. This residency at Expressiones becomes not just a site of creation but of transformation—a laboratory for empathy, cultural dialogue, and the slow unraveling of what it means to belong.
