Expressiones Cultural Center is excited to announce the opening of "Architectures of Silence," a solo exhibition by Peruvian artist Toto Fernandez Ampuero. The exhibition will run from March 8, 2025, to March 29, 2025. Toto Fernandez Ampuero's work explores the interplay between the public and the intimate, capturing the essence of New London's streets, brick houses, and gabled roofs. His paintings reflect the contrast between the permanent and the ephemeral, the enduring architecture and the fleeting traces of life. Winter's cold yet intense light transforms the landscapes into almost theatrical scenes, where the city feels empty but not uninhabited. Objects such as a parked car or an abandoned armchair suggest invisible stories and traces of those who were there and are no longer. The opening event will take place on Saturday, March 8th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and will include a discussion by the artist about his creative process. The exhibition can be visited by appointment after the opening by emailing: director@expressiones.org. Admission is free. Join us for this special event and experience the unique perspective of Toto Fernandez Ampuero.
