Expressiones is honored to collaborate with Mystic Museum of Art (MMoA) on an exploration of the MMoA 2025 curatorial theme of Migration. Throughout history, human beings have moved from one place to another—alone or in groups, for a season or a lifetime, driven by hardship or drawn by opportunity. Every displacement raises poignant questions of what to take, what to leave behind, and how to rebuild belonging. In the USA, the vast cultural wealth of the countries that constitute Latin America is often overlooked. Yet, questions about how we can live together and flourish figure among the most crucial issues of our time. Stories, Dreams, Desires: The Artists of Expressiones presents eleven artists who have participated or will participate in Expressiones’s artist residency program. Their work shares common themes of identity, heritage, resilience, environment and nature, tradition and modernity, and migration; yet they themselves hail from diverse cultural, linguistic, and geographical backgrounds. MMoA is grateful to Expressiones for helping us understand how our society can gain wisdom and learn resilience from the experience of others.
